Text Box: Sarah Michelle Ackerman, Alpha Delta Gamma’s 2005 National Sweetheart, is a third year pharmacy student at Butler University.  She is from Louisville, Kentucky, and graduated with honors in 2003 from Louisville Male High School.  

During high school, she was an active member of Beta Club, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Students Against Drunk Driving, Junior Classical League, Who’s Who Among American High School Students, The National Honor Roll, The National Society of High School Students, was a vigorous volunteer, member of her church choir, and an acolyte for 10 years.  She was also involved in the Show Choir for four years.  Performances included soloist as the “Sugar Plum Fairy” from The Nutcracker and “Ariel” from The Little Mermaid, as well as principal dancer in all other pieces during her four years of performances.  The Show Choir won first place in their category, as well as the overall championship, at a national competition for four consecutive years.  

Sarah has been a competitive dancer for 16 years at Dance Unlimited in Louisville, Kentucky and has won many regional and national competitions.  Recently, she was a member of the Butler University Dance Team, performing during girl’s and boy’s basketball games and on ESPN several times.  She is also a member of the Butler Ballroom Dance Team, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and volunteers whenever possible. 
 
Sarah is dating Caleb Finch, President of Rho Chapter and National Student Representative.  She has helped Caleb plan many ADG activities including the 1st Annual Rho Chapter Awards Banquet.  In her free time, Sarah loves to read and enjoys going out dancing and socializing with friends and family.

Does your Chapter have a young woman who has played an active part in the development of your chapter?

 

Well bring her to convention in LA and have her meet the delegates because at every convention, a young woman is chosen to become Alpha Delta Gamma’s National Sweetheart. 

 

She must not be married and must be present to receive the award.
